God’s Generosity: Men Accepted for the 2015 Novitiate


The Dominican Province of St. Joseph is grateful to God for these men who have been accepted for the 2015 Novitiate class. They began their novitiate on the feast of St. Dominic on August 8, 2015 in St. Gertrude Priory in Cincinnati. Please pray for them!

2015 Profession Mass

Please join us on Saturday, August 15 the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary for the Conventual Mass at 11:30am.


Our nine novices who have completed their novitiate year will make simple profession in the hands of our provincial Fr. Ken Letoile, officially become friars of the Order of Preachers, and then take their leave of us for their studies in Washington, D.C.

A reception will follow in the gym.

2015 High School Boys Vocation Event

What: Each year the Dominican Province of St. Joseph organizes only one high school boys vocation event during the summer. Includes: Holy Mass, Midday Prayer, Recreation/Cookout in priory garden, a Talk on Dominican Life, Rosary/Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

Who: All boys from OH, KY, and surrounding states (including incoming freshman and graduating seniors) are invited. A special invitation is going out to altar servers.

When: Monday July 13, 2015
11:30am-3:30pm (begins in St. Gertrude church with Mass)

Where: St. Gertrude Priory in Madeira, Ohio houses our Dominican Novices, so this vocation event for high school boys presents an extraordinary opportunity to meet and pray with our younger friars and those friars working in our Ohio parishes.

First Mass of Thanksgiving


Two newly ordained priests will be celebrating a First Mass of Thanksgiving Sunday, May 31. It is a tradition that the newly ordained priests return to their home parishes for their “First Mass.”

Fr. Boniface Endorf, O.P. will be celebrating his First Mass Sunday at the 9:30am Mass.
Fr. Charles Shonk, O.P. will also be celebrating his First Mass Sunday at the 12:30pm Mass.

Fourteen Novices Approved for Vows

The Province of St. Joseph announces with joy that its fourteen current novices have been approved to make their temporary profession of vows on August 15, 2014, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.


The following fourteen men, in order of religion, are scheduled to make their simple vows:

The twelve men who comprise the 2014 novitiate class began their canonical novitiate on August 8, an event marked by with the reception of the Dominican habit and a religious name.
