The Saint Gertrude Parish Religious Education Program serves children of active parish families from age 3 through Grade 8. Active parish families are those who have registered as members of St. Gertrude, attend mass regularly, and support the parish through their gifts of time, talent, and treasure. Classes begin in mid-September and end in early May. We are currently forming classes and taking registrations for the 2011-2012 school year. Pre-school classes for ages 3, 4, and 5 are offered on Sunday mornings. Grades 1 through 8 have the option of registering for Sunday morning or Tuesday afternoon classes. Just a reminder, Religious Education Classes do not fulfill our Sunday obligation. It is an expectation that all students in Grades 1 – 8 attend Sunday Mass each week. Classes are offered as follows:

Registration Fees for registrations received by July 1st are $ 80.00 per student, with a $240.00 maximum per family. Fees may be paid on an annual or semi-annual basis. Your first payment must accompany the registration form. An additional charge of $10 per child will be assessed for registrations received after July 1st, 2011.

Please indicate whether your Pre-school child will be entering P-3, P-4, or P-5 year old classes. Thank you for filling in both sides of the registration form. Be sure to indicate all medical and/or academic concerns or accommodations necessary. Since much of the communication from our office is sent electronically, please be sure to inform us if the e-mail address you provide on the registration form changes.

Please make checks payable to: St. Gertrude Church. If you will be paying semi-annually, your second payment is due February 1, 2012.

If your child is new to the program and was not baptized at St. Gertrude, please submit a copy of their baptismal certificate with your registration form. If you are unable to locate a copy of the certificate, please contact the church of Baptism and they will be happy to send you one or, upon your request, they can fax a copy to our office at 561-1172.

There are over 550 children in our program. We must ask that you do not make special requests regarding classroom assignments. Thanks, in advance, for your cooperation and support. Please consider joining our talented and dedicated team by volunteering as a teacher or assistant teacher.

Registration forms may be delivered to the Religious Ed Office, dropped in the offertory collection on Sundays, or mailed to the above address.
