Family members and volunteers provide some 90% of all home care in the U.S. to those who are ill, fragile or disabled. In Hamilton County alone, an estimated 100,000 persons are caring on a regular basis for a relative or friend – many of these 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Care giving is defined as providing unpaid assistance and support to family members or acquaintances that have physical, psychological or developmental needs (Blackwell Reference). It may involve providing care ranging from 5 minutes a week to 24 hours a day or somewhere in between.
Are you responsible of the care of an elderly or disabled loved one? You are a caregiver whether you devote as much as 24 hours a day or as little as five minutes a week to someone you care for. Join us as we explore caregiving together and discuss such topics as maintaining balance as a caregiver; how to cope with feelings of guilt and stress; finding helpful resources to support the caregiver.
