MADEIRA, April 2012 – Saint Gertrude Parish has sponsored a 5K run as part of their festival for many years. This year, they have added a theme to the event—REMEMBRANCE—and invite our community friends and families to join them in this special event.
On June 9, 2012 at 8:30 a.m, join the St. Gertrude Parish community at their annual 5k run/walk as we celebrate the lives of family members and friends who passed away this year. This year, the parish will begin calling the event the “Run to Remember.” It will provide an opportunity for many parishioners and local neighborhood supporters to rally on behalf of families like the Hertzels, Holdens, Fiores, and Cordiers, who have lost a loved one. The event t-shirt will have a special design recognizing these individuals. Then, after the race, participants will enjoy Bruegger’s bagels, fruit from Green Bean Delivery, awards and more.
Contact Mark Findley at 417-9227 if you are interested in helping or participating. Register on-line at www.stgertrude.org or stop by the parish to pick up a flyer from the church or parish office. Let’s join together to take this great annual event and make it even more memorable for the families and those they have lost.
