Great Adventure Matthew Bible Study
MATTHEW: THE KING AND HIS KINGDOM

Sign up now for Step 2 in the Great Adventure Bible Study
program! Building directly on the foundation laid in The Great
Adventure Bible Timeline, the study Matthew shows how Jesus builds
on the foundation laid in the Old Testament to inaugurate the
Kingdom of Heaven on earth. For this reason, it is an ideal follow-up
study to the basic narrative of Scripture taught in The Bible
Timeline and A Quick Journey Through the Bible courses.
The program begins at St. Gertrude Parish on Saturday, January
16, 2010. The study will be held in St. Gertrude School's "Holy
Grill" from 8:45-10:45 a.m. on most 1st and 3rd Saturdays
(with some exceptions). Please consult the calendar of dates on
the reverse side for a complete listing of dates.
Fr. George Schommer, O.P. will facilitate this 24-part series
and supplement the video presentations with additional doctrinal
and spiritual matter.
Materials Required: Each participant is required to purchase
a Matthew Study Kit, which includes Study Set Questions and Responses
in a convenient binder. The kit sells for $29.95. However, arrangements
have been made with The Catholic Shop in Madeira for participants
to purchase the kit at a 10% discount when paying in cash or by
check. Please indicate on your registration form if you would
like The Catholic Shop to order a study kit for you. The study
set will be available after December 7.
Each participant will also need to bring a copy of the Catechism
of the Catholic Church and a Bible with him or her to the study.
We recommend either the Revised Standard Version, Catholic Edition,
which is used in the Catechism, or the New American Bible, which
is used in the liturgy.
Concerned you may not be able to make every study? Not
to worry. A lending library CD may be borrowed to bring you up
to date. Of course, you will miss Fr. George's fantastic supplemental
input, so you won't want to miss too often!
No child care for this program.

Experience the Gospel in a new and powerful way through...
Matthew: The King and His Kingdom
The time of Christ is a period of history unlike any other that
humanity has experienced. For thirty-three years, the Creator
of the Universe lived among men. He was born, suffered, and died,
all for the sake of our salvation. He established a New Law of
mercy and love, founded a visible Church, and instituted the sacraments
to confer upon us the grace of salvation. And all of these extraordinary
events have been recorded for us in the Gospels.
Matthew: The King and His Kingdom is a Catholic Bible study that
presents the Gospel account in a way that brings the history of
Christ to life. Witness for yourself how Jesus fulfills the promises
and prophecies of the Old Testament. Experience how Christ demonstrates
His authority and Divinity through his miraculous ministry. And
recognize the power and importance of The Church, the Mass, and
the Sacraments established by Christ.
