"Incorporated into Christ by Baptism, the person baptized is configured to Christ. Baptism seals the Christian with the indelible spiritual mark (character) of his belonging to Christ. No sin can erase this mark, even if sin prevents Baptism from bearing the fruits of salvation. Given once for all, Baptism cannot be repeated." (CCC 1272)
St. Gertrude Church provides Baptisms for families that are registered parishioners. We are eager to assist you in planning your child’s Baptism.
Baptisms will take place on most Sundays at 1:15 p.m., following our 12 p.m. Mass (except the first Sunday of the month). Please call the parish office at (513) 561-5954, ext. 2101, to find out more about our Baptism process and schedule your child’s Baptism.* |
Rooted: Family Baptism Formation
As you prepare for the Baptism of your child, we ask you to sign up for our new formation class. You will meet other parishioners, learn about this beautiful sacrament, and pick up some tips on Catholic parenting. Classes are offered the first Sunday of the month (except for April 12 and June 14) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Parish Center. Lunch is provided. Godparents are also encouraged to participate. Please call the parish office to sign up.
There is a suggested $25 offering, if possible, to cover the costs of the Baptism materials: white garment, holy water bottle, baptismal candle, printed baptismal certificate, etc. This offering can be given to the priest or the parish office
*For children ages 7 and older or for adults seeking Baptism, an age-appropriate formation process will be required. Contact the parish office for further details.
