Who We Are
Like most Catholic parishes, St. Gertrude Church has a humble beginning. But as soon as you step on campus, experience one of our Masses, or attend an event, you realize that St. Gertrude Church is incredibly unique. Why? Watch this video to find out what makes this faith community so special.
In November 1923, “St. Gertrude’s Mission” was just a small group of Catholic families celebrating Mass each week in a private residence at the corner of Naomi and Miami avenues. Today, the parish is pastored by the Dominican Order and home to over 1,799 families, a distinguished church building and campus, an abundance of opportunities to attend Mass and receive the sacraments, over 300 students in one of the most premier Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, and the novitiate for the Dominican Friars of the Eastern Province of St. Joseph.
Known for our preaching, teaching, and beautiful and reverent liturgies, St. Gertrude Parish is a flourishing faith community with ministries, programs, groups, and organizations for people of all ages and at all stages of the journey of life—come and see.
