At St. Gertrude Church, we are committed to supporting parents in the Christian formation of their children. That's why we are happy to provide various faith formation programs for children and youth, age 3 through grade 12.
Recognizing that every child bears the image of God and each family is the primary school of faith and love, we put the developmental and relational needs of children and families at the heart of our ministries. For little ones (PreK–Grade 3), we offer Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS). For children in grades 4–6, we offer Family Faith, a family-based method of passing on a living relationship with Jesus Christ to children and parents. |

We’ve also developed a dynamic, two-year, youth ministry-based Confirmation formation program for seventh and eighth graders. This program is designed to foster a deeper relationship with Jesus through mentorship and peer community, and culminates in full initiation into the Church at the end of a candidate’s eighth grade year.
We’re also excited to provide junior high and high school youth ministry offerings that are rooted in real-life experiences in order to cultivate mature Christian men and women.
Finally, none of our offerings would be possible without prayer, parents, and volunteers. Every parishioner is a partner in our work, and every parent is the primary former of his or her children. Through prayer, committing time, offering resources, and being present, you can lead our young people closer to Christ. If you are interested in helping with our parish formation efforts, we would love to talk with you about the leadership needs and roles in our children and youth programs. To learn more or apply for a leadership role, please contact us at (513) 561-5954, ext. 2109.
