L'alto: Junior High

Grades 7–8
At each stage of our lives, we are invited to greater vistas, to experience the heights of relationship with God and fullness of life.

For junior high students, our L’alto: Junior High ministry provides a powerful base camp experience of the Christian life. Inspired by the adventurous life of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, L'alto: Junior High cultivates time and space for encountering Christ through prayer, the sacraments, and real formation for daily discipleship. This year, we are moving toward a more integrated experience, meeting our junior high students where they are and inviting them to the ascent the Lord calls each of us to undertake.

L'alto: Junior High Overview

Our L'alto: Junior High program is for seventh and eighth graders from all walks of life. We host periodic social events marked by Christ-centered community, prayer, and purpose. These events often have small fees associated with the venue or activity costs and may require advance registration.

For those who are seeking the sacrament of Confirmation at St. Gertrude Church and are not enrolled in St. Gertrude School, we offer L'alto: Confirmation. Through this two-year program (beginning in seventh grade and continuing until the sacrament is received in eighth grade), we seek to form young disciples through prayer, study, the communal life, and formation for mission. Candidates for Confirmation will need to commit to the full two-year program.
