Teams
Athletes will be assigned to teams consistent with the St. Gertrude Boosters Handbook guidelines.
Our third, fourth, and fifth grade teams are "balanced teams" that emphasize player development across skill, height, and basketball acumen. Our sixth, seventh, and eighth grade teams may be "competitive teams" based on skill, height, basketball acumen, etc., and players are placed onto teams accordingly. In the event of a roster shortage at a particular grade level(s), a combo team may be created and will be seeded accordingly with Greater Cincinnati Catholic Youth Sports (GCCYS). There are no cuts in our Bulldogs athletic programs!
Evaluations will tentatively take place in mid- to late-October for the grades that require them. Team placement will be communicated shortly after.

Practices
Practices will begin the week of November 1! With little exception, teams will have two 1 to 1.5-hour (depending on grade level) practices each week. Practices will be in either the St. Gertrude Parish gym or Stepping Stones Center (5650 Given Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45243), which is five minutes from St. Gertrude Church.
Games
Regular season games run from December 1, 2023, through February 4, 2024. The regular season consists of 10 games, with most games on Saturdays and Sundays, and an occasional game on a Friday evening. Most weekends consist of only one game, but two or three weekends will have two games. There is a break over Thanksgiving weekend and the two weeks of Christmas and New Years. The GCCYS post-season tournament is February 7–11, 2024. Teams may also play in two parish-hosted tournaments during the season, at the coach's discretion.
In total, teams can expect to play between 12 and 20 games (including tournaments) over the course of the season.
