MORE FOR MISSION

For decades, St. Gertrude Church has been a torch in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Shaped by the Dominican charism, we are committed to offering beautiful liturgies, to forming parishioners young and old, to engaging in prayer, and to courageously bringing the light of Christ into the world. In other words, our mission is to help people encounter Jesus Christ.
With a goal of $150,000, MORE FOR MISSION will allow us to shine our light more brightly in our parish and beyond by investing in, innovating, and inviting more people to experience our liturgies, child and youth offerings, and invigorating adult formation initiatives. |

- Invest: St. Gertrude Church has powerful formation opportunities, such as Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, L'alto: Confirmation, Revitalize, lecture series, adult Bible studies, and more. We want to put more resources toward these programs, as well as our liturgies.
- Innovate: Living a Christian life in the current culture is challenging. We want to offer innovative programs that will help you navigate the troubled waters. These initiatives are not in the budget, so we need funding to develop these new programs.
- Invite: Our parish includes not only current parishioners but also all people who live within our boundaries—and that's a large area. We need to carry our torch beyond our campus through better outreach in the community and the archdiocese. This involves publicizing our events more broadly and offering the local community access to events.
At one time or another, you or someone in your family has experienced—or will experience—one of the many programs or initiatives offered at St. Gertrude. By giving to our parish on Giving Tuesday, you're making it possible for us to serve you and your family in new, more, and powerful ways and to help more people encounter Jesus Christ.
Giving Tuesday Donations Are Assessment Free (i.e. “tax free”)
The Archdiocese of Cincinnati collects an “assessment” on all donations given to a parish in order to fund the Central Offices and all services provided to parishes. On Giving Tuesday, the archdiocese will not assess donations for all online donations. That means that 100 percent of any gift made to St. Gertrude Church between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. on November 30, 2021, stays here at the parish when you donate online via credit card or EFT. If you were planning on making an end-of-the-year gift to St. Gertrude, November 30 would be a great day for it!
*Do I Have to Give Online?
While we encourage online giving, we understand that some are not comfortable with this. Therefore, we will accept check donations that are brought to the parish office. (Please include "Giving Tuesday 2021" in the memo). If you donate via check, we will enter this as an “offline” gift, subject to the archdiocesan assessment. It will, nevertheless, count toward our MORE FOR MISSION goal.
