Who We Are
Lectors serve the parish by proclaiming the Word of God during Mass.
What We Do
Lectors not only proclaim the first and second readings—and, at spoken masses, the Responsorial Psalm—during Mass but also read any necessary announcements before the liturgy and the Universal Prayer (Prayer of the Faithful) before the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
When We Meet
Lectors do not meet together on a regular basis; however, all lectors go through an initial training before they are able to serve at Mass.
Join Us
Anyone is always welcome to become a lector at St. Gertrude Church. If you are interested in joining this liturgical ministry, please contact Father Joachim Kenney at [email protected] or (513) 561-5954, ext. 2113. A member of the Pastoral Team will acquaint you with the procedures at our parish, provide the necessary training, and show you how to use our ministry scheduling program.
You can also check the bulletin or listen to the post-Mass announcements for dates of upcoming information sessions.
