Ultrasound Machine Blessing at ENLC

At 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022, members of the Knights of Columbus Archbishop Elder Council #1195 and St. Gertrude parishioners gathered at Elizabeth's New Life Center (ENLC) Forest Park location as Father George Schommer, O.P., and Father Michael Mary Dosch, O.P., blessed the new ultrasound machine that St. Gertrude helped purchase for ENCL. This was the second ultrasound machine that St. Gertrude helped purchase through the Knights of Columbus Ultrasound Initiative Program. 

Archbishop Elder Council #1195 became involved with the ultrasound program in October 2020. The Council's goal was to raise $22,000, half the cost of the ultrasound machine required by LIFE FORWARD Pregnancy Care of Cincinnati. Through their "2020 Raffle for Life - Ultrasound Initiative," the Council raised not only the needed amount but also an additional $17,000. The Knights of Columbus Supreme Council provided matching funds to purchase the new ultrasound machine, and Archbishop Elder Council #1195 saved the additional $17,000.

It was that $17,000 that went toward the purchase of this new ultrasound machine for ENCL. This accomplishment of raising funds for two ultrasound machines is a true testament to St. Gertrude's parishioners' commitment to saving the lives of the most vulnerable, the unborn.
