The Archdiocese of Cincinnati has moved from VIRTUS to SafeParish™ as the new platform for child protection training. Every person in a position which requires contact or interaction with youth or vulnerable adults must complete the SafeParish edition of Protecting Children from Sexual Abuse training before they can work or volunteer within any of the parishes, schools, or institutions in the archdiocese.
If you are a current VIRTUS account holder or you will be volunteering or working in a capacity which requires contact or interaction with youth or vulnerable adults, please read on to find out what this means for you and to learn more about SafeParish. We invite all St. Gertrude parishioners and families to our parish picnic on Saturday, August 21, 2021, following the 4:30 p.m. Mass. Come and enjoy tasty food, music, games for the kids, cornhole, and an evening of fun with your St. Gertrude friends.
On Friday, July 16, Pope Francis issued a motu proprio entitled Traditionis Custodes regarding the celebration of the traditional Latin Mass using the Roman Missal of 1962. Archbishop Schnurr has responded to the document, detailing how the Archdiocese of Cincinnati will implement the Holy Father’s motu proprio. (You can read each of the documents by clicking their respective links above.)
